One of the outer planets, Saturn moves very slowly. He is in the sign of Sagittarius from December of 2014 until December of 2017.
Sagittarius, ruled by Jupiter, is about expansion and freedom. Independence. Impatience with the status quo. An itch to go places, do things, free of constraints.
Saturn is all about responsibility and rules. Creating order from chaos. Concrete, steady, accomplished. The good citizen.
If you’ve been feeling hemmed in for the last couple of years, this is why! Sagittarius (and Jupiter) say “Go! Expand! Celebrate your BIGness!” Saturn the taskmaster says, “Hold on a minute. How are you going to pay the bills if you do that? Who takes the kids to school and does the laundry?”
Because this is a long, slow transit, it’s worth taking some time (Saturn) to figure out what you really want (Sagittarius). Use the orderly energy of Saturn to think through your options and identify your fears.
Can you start making plans? How can you use this slow, deep transit to help you move forward?
You can start by looking at where Saturn and Sagittarius fall in your birth chart. Second house? Are you worried about money? Can you work on plans to reduce expenses or earn more? Fourth house? Maybe it’s time to start a family, or make some changes in the way you relate to your birth family. Maybe it’s time to plan a move to a new house or even a different city. Tenth house? Are you happy — really happy — with your work and the career path you’re on? Can you carve out some time to learn a new skill, make some connections with others, plan where you want to be by the end of next year?
When Saturn moves into Capricorn in December of 2017, he will be moving into his place of strength. Capricorn, a cardinal (leadership) earth (practical) sign, is ruled by Saturn. The power to get things done, based on the plans you’ve made during this Sagittarius transit, will be ready to rock in your favor.
What do you really want? What do you fear?
Sort it out. Make plans. And be ready to fly.
The time is coming.
